NEOPRENE for medical use
Medical neoprene is an ideal material for healthcare and orthopedic applications.
The neoprene, also called CR (= chloroprene rubber), is derived from limestone, a natural limestone rock. It is not toxic or harmful, and contains no latex. As a result, neoprene, except in cases of personal allergies, can be safely used as a medical fabric for making items that are in contact with the skin.
The Yulex® natural rubber represents the sustainable alternative to CR neoprene.
We produce most of our fabrics using recycled yarns, pursuing the goal of reducing environmental impact. In addition, we use water-based glues to laminate fabrics onto Yulex® natural rubber, ensuring a sustainable process.
In the field of orthopedics, we recommend for the manufacture of braces the use of double-lined neoprene, laminated on one side with elastic Velcro fabric (hook part). This allows to optimize the attachment of the bands with the “male” Velcro (called precisely “hook”) without compromising the elasticity of the brace, avoiding unnecessary seams.
