Dust and sand
The hinge is highly resistant to damage caused by dust or sand; however, in the presence of dust or sand, it is suggested that the hinge be cleaned with liquid soap and water or other mild detergents.
Dust grains, which are present in the spiral profile, may affect the waterproof seal.
If the hinge is used to protect sensitive materials, frequent cleaning of the hinge and careful inspection before each use is essential.
Lubrication
Both ends of the hinge should be lubricated over time. It is recommended to use the original lubricants provided by TIZIP or specially for hinges. Carefully apply around the zipper joint front, back and inside the slider. Repeat this process before long storage, leaving the zipper closed and in a dry place.
Operations
To ensure watertightness, the hinge in moving the slider requires slightly more force than that used for standard plastic hinges. In case the profile surface is lubricated or wet, the slider will be more manageable.
Stability
The performance of the hinge in terms of strength and durability, is of a high standard. In any case bending and twisting should be avoided. When closed, the hinge resists transverse pulls of 150 N/cm
